Hedge Planting - Jubilee Bridge
This morning, a team assembled by Steve P. gathered in the damp and drizzly conditions to plant a new hedge alongside the towpath.
Some 1000 plants, together with canes and tree guards were on hand to be set in the ground at roughly 5/m and in a staggered formation where possible.
In addition, we had a couple of chain saw operatives which set about removing some of the quite large tree stumps from the fence line.
When matured, the mixed variety of plants should make a fine hedge for the wildlife and also screen the factory behind.
The work will not have been completed in the available time today, so Steve hopes to return Tuesday to carry on.
