With the barbeque weather most definitely set to the 'on' position, some 80 CCT members & our canal neighbours, from the tow path works around Ryeford, enjoyed the celebration of the completion of works.
Alan Jones took the mic' and kicked off the event with a few words. A hog roast triggered the taste buds, together with kind donations of some fine real ale, we all enjoyed a wonderful time chatting and listening to the live band, Free Spirit.
Trip boat Perseverance provided 30 minute journeys along the canal as far as just beyond the bridge at Downton road. It was the first time that many of the passengers had travelled along this section of canal.
Thanks go to Alan and all the team involved in organising the event. The location and ambience were spot on.
