There was something of a late autumnal air this morning on the way to work. Frost all about and ice on the deck of the boat. A Heron swooped overhead.
Today, we had hoped to get the deck painted. As it turned out, following the last little bit of needle gunning, there was a window of dryness when about half the area towards the back of No.5 received its first coat of red oxide. Then, persistent problematical precipitation prevented progress outside, so we moved inside the cab and continued there.
All the hydraulics is now complete in the cab and mighty fine it looks too. Outside, all the boom plumbing is now in place, so our minds ae turning to charging the fuel, oil and water systems. Before that, there is the electricals to get on with.
Discussions on the design of a new engine bay cover further developed today. More on this another time.
