Invitation to celebratory au revoir to Ryeford - Sunday 10th June

Over the last two and half years the Landing Stages team has spent much of its time at Ryeford, with three stages west of the road bridge, three to the east including above and below the double lock, stabilisation of the entire causeway, and reconstruction of Fords Wharf.  We also found time to restore the coping stones and pavers by the swing bridge and replace the sheet piling nearby.

The whole project has had broad support from the Tuesday and Thursday teams, Western Depot and many other volunteers.  Our most recent construction was the residential landing stage at Harpers Field using piles made of recycled plastic backed up with open box beams.

With peace and quiet descending once more, we are hosting a thankyou event to Ryeford locals, small businesses, school and all canal volunteers in helping get Phase 1B funding.  It is open to all CCT/SDC canal volunteers, on Sunday 10th June 2018, between 1 and 5pm at Jacobs Cottage west of Ryeford road bridge where the Boatmobility boats are moored.   It is a free event, with a hog roast/BBQ, beer, wine, soft drinks, and local band Free Spirit providing the entertainment.

Parking has been arranged at Wycliffe Junior school/nursery car park-off B3008 old road at Ryeford.  Walk from there via the road please, and not the swing bridge which is a private access.
If coming by car, please  car-share where possible, to minimise any issues with our guest numbers parking at the school/nursery car park.

Looking forward.....
We are currently preparing materials for two landing stages at the Lodgemoor lift bridge.
